The Short Version
The Dam Plumber clears clogged main sewer lines across Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and northwest Arizona. We open the line from the cleanout, cable or jet it clear, and put a camera in it when we need to see why it stopped up. You get the price before we start, and the options are yours.
What a Clogged Sewer Line Looks Like
A clogged sink is one drain. A clogged sewer line is everything. The main line carries all the waste out of the house, so when it stops up, the water has nowhere to go but back up through the lowest drain. Usually that's a tub, a shower or a floor drain.
If you flush the toilet and the tub gurgles, or the washer drains and water comes up somewhere else, stop running water and give us a call. The more water goes down, the more comes back up.

What Causes a Clogged Sewer Line
Some of it is what goes down the drain. Wipes, even the ones that say flushable, grease and paper towels all pile up in the main. Some of it is the pipe itself.
Roots
Roots find the water in a sewer line and grow in through the smallest crack. Once they're in, they catch everything. Cabling cuts them out, and hydro jetting cleans the pipe walls, but if the pipe is broken, they'll grow back.
- Roots getting in through cracks and joints
- Old cast iron rusted and scaled up inside
- A belly or sag in the line where waste settles
- Broken or offset pipe
- Grease buildup from the kitchen

How We Clear a Clogged Sewer Line
We go in through the cleanout and run a cable machine down the main to open it back up. For heavy grease, scale or roots, we've got a hydro jetter on the truck that scours the whole line.
Once it's flowing, we can run a sewer camera down the line so you can see what stopped it. That's how you find out whether this was a one-time clog or a pipe that's going to keep doing it. If your house doesn't have a good cleanout, we can put one in. It makes the next call faster and cheaper.

When the Clogged Sewer Line Is a Broken Pipe
If the camera shows the pipe is cracked, collapsed or full of roots, cleaning it again is only buying time. We'll show you what we see and give you options. Clean it and keep an eye on it, fix the one bad section, or replace the run.
When it needs to be fixed, we dig it up and put in new pipe. We don't do trenchless, pipe lining or pipe bursting. See sewer repair for how that works. We'll tell you what we'd do if it was our house and give you the price up front. If it goes south once we're in there, it's still the same price.

Common Questions
Clogged Sewer Lines FAQs
Straight answers to what people ask us most about clogged sewer lines.
How do I know if it's the main sewer line and not just a drain?
If one fixture is slow, it's usually that drain. If several are slow, toilets gurgle, or water comes up in the tub when you flush, it's usually the main line.
Can roots in the sewer line be fixed for good?
Cleaning cuts them out, but if they got in through a crack, they'll grow back. The permanent fix is replacing the bad section of pipe. We'll show you on camera and let you decide.
Do you do trenchless sewer repair?
No. We don't do trenchless, lining or pipe bursting. When a sewer line needs to be fixed, we dig it up and put in new pipe.
Will the price change once you start?
No. You get the price up front, and if the job goes south, it's still the same price.
Do you warranty the work?
Yes. Workmanship is warrantied for one year in Nevada and two years in Arizona, per each state's rules.
