The Short Version

The Dam Plumber repairs plumbing leaks in walls, under slabs and in the water line from the street, across Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas and northwest Arizona. We track down the leak, lay out your options from a quick fix to a full replacement, and give you the price before we start. If the job gets harder once we're in there, the price stays the same. Not sure where the water's coming from yet? Start with leak detection.

Plumbing Leak Repair Starts With Finding the Leak

A water stain on the ceiling doesn't always mean the leak is right above it. Water runs along pipes and framing before it shows up, so the first job is figuring out where it's really coming from.

Once we know, we open up only what we have to. A small hole in the drywall beats tearing out a whole wall. Then we fix the pipe, you check that it's dry, and we show you what we found.

Leaks inside the walls

Pinhole leaks in old copper, a failed fitting, a supply line behind a toilet or a washer box. We cut in, repair or replace the bad section, and leave it ready to patch.

Leaks under the fixtures

Drips under the sink, a toilet that rocks and leaks at the base, a shower valve weeping into the wall. Those are usually quick. See our faucet and sink and toilet repair pages for more.

Water Line Leaks From the Street to the House

The line that runs from your meter to the house is buried, so you usually find out it's leaking from a soggy spot in the yard, a water bill that jumped, or a meter that keeps spinning with everything off.

We dig down to it, and depending on what we find, we can repair the leaking section or replace the whole line. We'll tell you which one we'd do if it was our house. We don't do trenchless or pipe lining, so when a line needs replacing, we dig it and put in new pipe. For the whole main water system, see our water lines page.

We once fixed the water line from the street to a fourplex, kept the owner's tenants in the loop, and worked with her insurance company along the way. If you've got a claim going, tell us and we'll work with you on it.

Slab Leak Repair

A lot of homes out here are built on a concrete slab with the water lines running underneath. Signs of a slab leak are a warm spot on the floor, the sound of running water when nothing's on, damp flooring, or a bill that keeps climbing.

You've got options. We can cut into the slab and repair the leak where it is, or reroute the line through the walls or attic so it's out of the slab for good. On an older house with more than one leak, we'll talk about repiping too, but only if it actually makes sense. You pick.

What a Leak Repair Call Looks Like

You call, and during business hours you'll usually get one of us. We come out, find the leak, and explain what's going on in plain English. Then you get options and an upfront price. Nobody here is on commission, so we're not going to use one leak as an excuse to sell you a whole house of new pipe.

Water pouring out somewhere at night? Shut off the main if you can and call us. We run 24/7 emergency service. We give you the after-hours rate before we head out, and we'll tell you that on the phone before we head out.

Veterans get 15% off, and Boulder City senior center members get a discount too. Check our coupons page for the details.

Common Questions

Plumbing Leak Repair FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us most about leak repair.

How do I know if I have a hidden leak?

Turn off every faucet and appliance and look at your water meter. If it's still moving, water is going somewhere. A higher bill, a warm spot on the floor, or stains on a wall are other signs. Call us and we'll track it down.

Do I have to repipe the whole house because of one leak?

No. One leak usually means one repair. If the pipes in the house are failing all over, we'll tell you and give you options, from fixing the worst sections to a full repipe. You decide.

Will the price change once you open things up?

No. You get an upfront price before we start, and if the job goes south on us, it's still the same price.

Can you work with my insurance company?

We've worked with customers' insurance companies on water line leaks before. Let us know when you call that you have a claim going and we'll work with you on it.

Do you warranty leak repairs?

Yes. Workmanship is warrantied for one year in Nevada and two years in Arizona, per each state's rules.
