The Short Version
The Dam Plumber does whole-house and partial repipes for homes and businesses in Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas and northwest Arizona. We know a full repipe is a big bill, and plenty of folks can't swing it, so we lay out every option, from fixing the worst sections to replacing it all. You get the price up front, and it doesn't change once we start. If you've only got one leak, you probably need a leak repair, not a repipe, and we'll tell you so.
When Repiping Makes Sense (and When It Doesn't)
One leak doesn't mean you need new pipe in the whole house. We'll fix one leak as one leak.
It's a different story when the leaks keep coming, when the pipes are corroded inside and out, or when the water pressure has dropped because the old lines are choked up. At that point you're paying for repair after repair on pipe that's worn out, and a repipe can cost less in the long run.
We'll look at your pipes, show you what we see, and tell you what we'd do if it was our house. Then you decide. Nobody here works on commission, so we don't make more by talking you into the bigger job.

Repiping Options That Fit Your Budget
A full repipe isn't the right call for every house or every budget, and that's fine. There's usually more than one way to get you out of trouble.
Going one piece at a time
If money is tight, we can do the part that's hurting you now and plan the rest for later. You'll know the price of each piece up front, so there are no surprises when you're ready for the next one.
- **Fix the leak** and keep an eye on the rest
- **Partial repipe:** replace the worst runs, like one bathroom, the kitchen or the laundry
- **Reroute** a line out of the slab and through the walls or attic
- **Replace the main water line** from the meter to the house
- **Whole-house repipe** when the whole system is done

How a Repiping Job Goes
We walk through the house with you, figure out where the lines run, and plan the new route. New lines generally go in through the walls or the attic, with openings cut where we need access.
We work to keep you with water as much as we can while the job is going, and we'll tell you ahead of time when it has to be off. When we're done, you run every fixture and check it's all good to go before we leave.
If a new shower valve or new fixtures make sense while the walls are open, we'll mention it. If they don't, we won't. It's your house and your call.
Once the new lines are in and tested, the openings are ready to be patched.

Commercial Repiping and Water Line Replacement
We came out of commercial plumbing before The Dam Plumber, so repiping a commercial building isn't new to us. We've run new copper through commercial hallways and replaced the lines businesses depend on. See our commercial plumbing page for the rest of what we do there.
Sometimes the problem isn't inside at all. If the line from the street is the one failing, we dig it up and replace it. We don't do pipe lining, epoxy coating or pipe bursting. We put in new pipe. More on that on our water lines and main water systems page.

Common Questions
Repiping FAQs
Straight answers to what people ask us most about repiping.
Do I need to repipe my whole house?
Not always. If it's one leak, it's one repair. If the pipes are failing all over, a repipe can make sense. We'll show you what we see and give you options, including partial repipes.
Can I repipe in stages?
Yes. We can start with the worst sections and do the rest when you're ready. Each piece gets its own upfront price.
Will my walls be torn up?
We cut openings where we need access to run the new lines, not whole walls. We'll walk you through where they'll be before we start.
Will the price change partway through?
No. You get an upfront price before we start, and if the job goes south on us, it's still the same price.
Do you warranty repiping work?
Yes. Workmanship is warrantied for one year in Nevada and two years in Arizona, per each state's rules.
