The Short Version
The Dam Plumber installs, repairs and leak-tests gas lines for homes and businesses in Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas and northwest Arizona. People are often surprised a plumber does gas, but we do: new lines for ranges, dryers and water heaters, repairs to old piping, and testing to make sure it holds. You get the price up front, and it doesn't change once we start.
Gas Line Installation for New Appliances
Switching from an electric range to gas, adding a gas dryer, or putting in a new water heater? The appliance needs a properly sized line run to it, with a shut-off valve where it belongs.
We run the line, hook it up and test it before we leave. Since we handle the water side too, a gas water heater swap gets done by one crew instead of two.
Going tankless
A gas tankless water heater usually needs more gas than the old tank did, and the existing line often isn't big enough. We'll check that before we start and upsize the line if it needs it. More on our tankless water heaters page.
- Gas lines for ranges, cooktops and ovens
- Gas dryer hookups
- Gas water heater and tankless water heater lines
- Outdoor lines for a grill, fire pit or pool heater
- Shut-off valves and flex connectors replaced

Gas Line Repair and Replacement
Old gas piping corrodes, fittings loosen up, and buried lines get hit or wear out. When that happens, we find the bad section and fix it or replace it.
Inside the house that's usually black-iron pipe and fittings. Underground runs to a detached garage, a pool heater or an outdoor kitchen are typically yellow poly pipe in a trench. We work on both.
Like everything we do, you get options. Repair the one bad spot, or replace the run if it's in rough shape. We'll tell you what we'd do if it was our house.
Buried lines mean digging. We dig the trench, lay the new pipe, test it, and backfill. No shortcuts on gas.

Gas Leak Testing
Every line we put in or repair gets tested before we call it done. On exposed pipe, that includes soap-testing the joints so any leak shows up as bubbles you can see.
If you think you've got a small leak, or you've bought an older house and want to know the gas piping is sound, we can come test it.
Same goes after a remodel or when an old appliance comes out. A gas line that's been left open or capped badly is something you want checked, not guessed at. We'll test it, tell you what we found, and give you a price for anything that needs fixing.
If you smell gas
Don't flip light switches or start anything. Get everyone out of the house, then call the gas company or 911 from outside. Once it's safe, call us at 725-254-0089 and we'll find the leak and fix it. We answer the phone 24/7.

Commercial Gas Line Work
We came out of commercial plumbing before we started The Dam Plumber, so gas piping in commercial buildings and new tenant spaces is familiar ground. See our commercial plumbing page for new construction and tenant improvements.
Nobody on our crew is paid on commission. We tell you what the gas line needs, give you the price up front, and do the work. If the job turns out harder than it looked once we're into it, the price is still the price.
We're a family crew, and we treat your house like it's our own. That goes double when it's gas.
Gas problems at night or on a weekend? We run 24/7 emergency service. We give you the after-hours rate before we head out, and we'll tell you that before we head out.
