The Short Version

The Dam Plumber installs whole-house water filters and under-sink reverse osmosis systems in Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and northwest Arizona. We'll help you figure out which one fits what you actually want out of your water, and give you the price before we start. No commission, no upsell.

Which Water Filtration System Makes Sense for You

There are two main ways to filter water in a house. A whole-house filter treats everything coming in from the main line. An under-sink reverse osmosis system treats the water at one faucet, usually for drinking and cooking.

Which one you want depends on what's bugging you. If it's the taste of what you drink, reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink might be all you need. If you want filtered water at every tap and shower, that's a whole-house system. Some people do both.

We'll tell you honestly what we'd put in if it was our house. Nobody here is on commission. Everybody's hourly, so we're not trying to sell you the biggest system.

Whole-House Water Filtration Installation

A whole-house filter goes on the main line where water comes into the house, so every faucet, shower and appliance gets filtered water.

We cut into the main, plumb in the filter housings, and add valves so the cartridges can be changed without shutting off water to the whole house for long. We'll show you how to change them yourself.

Most of these go in the garage or wherever the main line comes into the house. If there's not a good spot, we'll tell you what it would take to make one before you spend anything.

Filter or softener?

They're not the same thing. A softener takes out the hardness minerals that leave scale and spots. A filter is about taste, smell and what's in the water you drink and cook with. Our water out here is hard, so a lot of houses end up with both. We'll tell you if you really need both or if one will do.

  • Multi-stage whole-house filters on the main line
  • Shut-off valves and a bypass for easy cartridge changes
  • Clean installs in the garage or at the main
  • Can be paired with a [water softener](/water-softeners/)

Under-Sink Reverse Osmosis Systems

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a very fine membrane and a set of filters. It's what most people mean when they say they want really clean drinking water. The system fits under the kitchen sink and feeds its own small faucet on the counter.

We install the unit, the storage tank, the faucet, and the drain connection. If you've got a garbage disposal under there too, we'll work around it. If the garbage disposal or the kitchen faucet needs replacing while we're there, we can do that on the same trip.

An RO system sends a little water down the drain while it works. That's normal. We set it up so it drains the way it should and doesn't leak into your cabinet. We do these all over Clark County and in Bullhead City, Kingman, Dolan Springs and Topock.

Common Questions

Water Filtration FAQs

Straight answers to what people ask us about water filtration.

Should I get a whole-house filter or reverse osmosis?

If you mainly care about drinking and cooking water, reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink is usually enough. If you want filtered water everywhere, go whole-house. We'll tell you what we'd do if it was our house.

Is a water filter the same as a water softener?

No. A softener takes out the hardness minerals that cause scale. A filter is about what's in the water you use and drink. A lot of houses out here end up with both.

Can you replace an old reverse osmosis system?

Yes. If yours is leaking or not working, we'll pull it and put a new one in.

Will the price change once you start?

No. You get an upfront price before we start, and if the job goes south on us, it's still the same price.

Do you warranty the work?

Yes. Workmanship is warrantied for one year in Nevada and two years in Arizona, per each state's rules.
